When Mom and Dad returned from their sailing circumnavigation in 1966, they were anxious to play in the dirt: Dad to build, Mom to garden. Their manager, Dick Marshall, was another unfettered-by-rules-and-regulations man, so he and Dad teamed up to build this house and the adjacent Bridge House. Dick had the backhoe (his “runter”), Dad built a scale model for plans and away they went. Trout House is built into Oak Creek and the creek is right there, ten feet straight down. 1 bedroom (King bed), and a Queen Murphy bed and rock fireplace in the living room. 1 full bath, and the kitchen looks upstream at the creek and canyon.
