The Overlook Apartment was originally built in 1958 as a storage room and occasional summer “brave employee” quarters (it was called the Gorilla Room because the ceiling was so low at that time that no one could stand up in it). It became a resort accommodation in 1987 when it was remodeled and expanded. My son, Rob, named it for its deck and spectacular views high above Oak Creek.
Capacity: 2 (no pets)
Accessed by a set of stairs, the Overlook is a comfortable, one room studio apartment with a Queen bed and gas-log fireplace. It features a full kitchen, dining table, and full bathroom with a shower. On the private balcony, enjoy the spacious and dramatic views of the creek below and the canyon walls.
