To protect the forests during hot and dry weather conditions, Coconino National Forest will be fully closed beginning 6/23/21 and will remain closed until the area receives sufficient rainfall. This includes Slide Rock State Park, West Fork Trail, hiking trails, campgrounds, roadside pull-offs and day use areas in the canyon. This does NOT affect Forest Houses Resort as we are private property. We are open and welcoming guests! You are able to enjoy our lawn and grounds, swim in Oak Creek along our property, and experience quiet and relaxation. Highway 89A and roads to us will remain open, as well as restaurants, stores, Sedona and Flagstaff.
Thank you for helping to protect our forests and keeping Oak Creek Canyon beautiful.

Forest Houses Resort

Summer temperatures are pleasant, the nights cool.
Winter brings several snowfalls as the resort is just above the snowline at an altitude of one mile.

Close to the resort are several spectacular trail walks and scenic hikes varying from relaxing to strenuous and providing opportunities to explore the unusual geological formations and vegetation of the canyon.

Oak Creek Canyon – Sedona, Arizona
20 wooded acres off a mountain stream

Beautiful trail walks, scenic hikes, birdwatching and wildlife observation, photography, trout fishing, creek swimming and relaxation. Nearby in Flagstaff and Sedona are golf, horseback riding, tennis, spas, restaurants, museums, theaters, and art galleries. We are an easy drive to the Grand Canyon, Painted Desert, Antelope Canyon, Walnut Canyon, Montezuma Castle, Tuzigoot National Monument and the bustling “ghost” town of Jerome, or a longer day trip to Navajo and Hopi country, Monument Valley and the Petrified Forest.
